BalBok Engineering AD handed out certificates for contribution

On the occasion of Earth Day - April 22 and in connection with the fifth year of the introduction of regular collection of household hazardous waste in Bulgaria, BalBok Engineering AD awarded the municipalities and organizations which, by joining the System, initiated a responsible attitude towards improving the quality of life in Bulgaria.
The company handed out CERTIFICATES OF EXCELLENCE to all municipalities and organizations that contributed to the construction of a National System for Collection of Hazardous Waste from Households in Bulgaria.
So far, the system covers more than 2.2 million people and the collected hazardous waste is over 20 tonnes.
Hazardous household waste is mercury, mercury-containing appliancesand components (such as thermometers, blood pressure monitors, etc.), varnishes and paints, household detergents, chemicals (including acids and bases), pest-contaminated packaging, expired drugs and other wastes whose composition and properties pose a risk to human health and the environment.
The Designed and implemented by BalBok System, ensures economic efficiency for municipalities, convenience and safety for citizens, as well as compliance with environmental legislation.
Sofia Municipality is the first municipality in Bulgaria to introduce in 2012 the system for collection and disposal of hazardous waste from households. The accumulated experience contributed to the successful launch of the System in 2014 in other municipalities of the country - Plovdiv, Sliven and Shumen, and subsequently - Veliko Turnovo, Sredets, Bansko, Gotse Delchev, Radomir, Blagoevgrad and Rousse. Other municipalities will be included. Joint campaigns with organizations on their own initiative, such as that of Kaufland Bulgaria for collecting old medicines, have further enriched the System.
For the establishment and implementation of the System, BalBok Engineering AD was awarded an Innovative Enterprise of the Year in the Green Innovation category of the 10th National Innovation Forum, 16 December 2014 in Sofia.
