Circular Economy and Environment 2018. Srednogorie Cluster Conference

Today October 2, at the Inter Expo Center in Sofia from 9.00 to 15.30, a conference entitled "Circular Economy and Environment 2018" was held, under the auspices of the Mayor of Sofia Municipality Yordanka Fandakova. Organizer of the event is Srednogorie Industrial Cluster.
The conference was organized in three sessions - two before noon and one in the afternoon.
Session I - Public Policies and Programs - Moderator Eng. Nikolay Minkov, Executive Director, Srednogorie Industrial Cluster, included the following presentations and lecturers:
Circular Economy and Policy of the MOEW for Effective Waste Management. Anton Peychev, Senior Expert at the Waste Management Directorate, Ministry of Environment and Water;
Public funding to promote investment in clean technologies. Kalin Marinov, Deputy Chief Directorate, Directorate General "European Funds for Competitiveness", Ministry of Economy;
Circular economy and the environment. Lorita Radeva, Chairman of the Standing Committee on the Protection of the Environment, Agriculture and Forests;
Innovations in metallurgy: from today's waste to tomorrow's resources. Milen Kadiiski, Sectoral Manager "Research and Development", Aurubis Bulgaria.
Session II - Corporate Practices and Programs - Moderator Kaloyan Kosorov, Executive Secretary, BFIEC:
Circular economy - stimulating business and reducing waste. Neli Petrova, Labor Safety and Environmental Safety Coordinator, Amilum Bulgaria;
Integrated business strategy with sustainability centric lens. Rafal Rudzki, Senior Manager, Sustainability Consulting Central Europe, Deloitte;
Sustainable development through application of the principles of circular economy. Angela Pulejo, Manager, Cupffee;
Circular economy through the eyes of the entrepreneur. Mohamed Geraldez, Business Nomad @ Mgeraldez.com.
Session III - Business Practices and Solutions - Moderator Desislava Chalamova, Business Development Director, Srednogorie Industrial Cluster:
Circular Economy and Trakia Economic Zone. Georgi Georgiev, Representative and Coordinator of Fraunhofer for Bulgaria and the Region;
Effective consumption of resources and efficiency of production. Mrs. Kevez, the Environment Manager for the country, Coca-Cola HBC;
Sustainable and effective utilization of textile waste. Sevdalin Spasov, President, Second Handed Processors and Retailers Association.
The closing presentation of the third session
The management of hazardous waste as part of the circular economy was delivered by Dr. Ralitsa Angelova, Executive Director of BalBok Engineering AD.
The event was opened by Mr. Nikolay Minkov, CEO of Srednogorie Industrial Cluster.
